WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS BOOK
This book is for anyone who wants to develop a sacred practice, explore the inner self, and tap into everyday, walking-down-the-street magic while living in a city or traveling through one. You don’t have to be a witch or align yourself with the witch archetype (although you probably do if you are reading this!), nor do you have to practice or believe anything. It’s about discovering your own magic within the context of a city environment.
This book is my offering, and my take, on ritual and sacredness within a city. It is inspired by my life in New York City, my own eclectic magical practice, my background in creative writing, trauma healing, and my focus on accessibility.
City Witchery takes pages out of my previous two books, Light Magic for Dark Times and The Magical Writing Grimoire—both of which embrace an adaptable, trauma-informed, intuitive, shadow-work-rich, writing-based magic. This magic is a collaboration between you, your city, and the prompts in this book.
You will be gently and safely guided, but you can always make it your own. It is full of prompts, meditations, and reflections—and a bit of my own story.
I invite you to wander, write, and engage in accessible ritual with me—and with the city.
In these pages, you will:
Discover your own magic within the context of a city environment.
Travel with intention to other cities
Embrace the enchantment of city streets and the power of wandering
Write poetry and tell stories of place
Find ways to make your apartment accessible and sacred
Reframe city limitations and find potential and inspiration
Create daily rituals that ground and soothe amid chaos
Self-protect and self-care when oversaturated and overwhelmed
